Words by Ewan MacDonald

1000Tees - Satisfied

The multi-faceted songwriter/producer 1000Tees creates a space for the alternative R&B sounds, crafting a dense track filled to the brim with samples and drum loops. With Satisfied being his sophomore release, the track sounds very promising. With the beat change halfway through the song switching the whole mood and atmosphere in the drop of a beat, the artist truly displays his skills up front.

Anna Sweeney - Magnet

With high praise coming from Vic Galloway and Jim Gellatly, songstress Anna Sweeney is on course to taking the music world by storm within the next five years. Magnet is her fourth release since her debut in 2019. A steady ballad, decorated in sweeping synth lines, the track pulls you in with the smooth guitar lines and lush vocals.

Brooke Combe - Miss Me Now

Up and coming pop artist Brooke Combe has been crafting her sound since her inaugural release back in 2021 titled Are You With Me? Serving up another sleek and streamlined pop performance which pulls focus onto her impressive vocals while the steady beat rocks away in the back underpinned by the syncopated bass lines.

Eurotoire - Raveloe, Tamara van Esch - Figures

Together with the music and arts collective Eurotorie, Glasgow singer/songwriter Raveloe combines her genius with Tamara Van Esch to produce the delightfully weird Figures. Coming from the collaborative album On A Red Thursday produced by Eurotorie, Figures is a jazz-infused jam with luscious layers of strange sounds and enticing vocal performances from both Van Esch and Raveloe.

Fatherson - Love For Air

The prodigal sons of Ayrshire Fatherson have graced us with another track ahead of their fourth LP entitled Love For Air. In preparation for their UK headline tour this summer, the indie-rock trio have been revealing more singles in the build up. Taking the hooks to a new level with the added layers of Ross Leighton’s vocal harmonies, this track is certainly destined to be pumping out into the hot summer air.

Lewis McLaughlin - You Tell Me

Edinburgh-based singer/songwriter Lewis McLaughlin is well versed in the world of music, coming from a background of touring with his brother as a folk music duo. Nowadays, the artist is crafting the misty-eyed acoustic alt-folk tracks. With the latest release You Tell Me, McLaughlin softly croons over the weary flutters of the instrumentation, his soft but full timbre instantly creating a whole world around the lyrics and wistful guitar parts.

Lizzie Reid - Bible

SAMA award winner and critically acclaimed artist Lizzie Reid returns with her first single since her debut EP Cubicle. Announced alongside a headline show at The Glad Cafe, Reid is once again displaying an ethereal beauty crafted perfectly into song. The track Bible is an introspective and personal journey through the trials of navigating life and religion. Letting her vocals ascend in stunning harmonies over the top of the sparse instrumentation, Bible feels like a soothing wash of bitter nostalgia.

sam gellaitry - New Wave

In the wake of his recent successful headline show at King Tuts, electro-pop artist Sam Gellaitry continues to crave out his place in the burgeoning pop music scene in Scotland and beyond. New Wave, the latest single is an immediately catchy anthem filled to the brim with catchy flutter of electronia. With production on par with the heavyweights of the pop world, evoking the style of The Weeknd with the pounding bass synth and kick drum.

Steg G, Sweet Rogue - No Future

The ever prolific local Hip-Hop artist Steg G continues to prove why he was one of the hottest export coming out of Scotland. With this new track, Steg lets his collaborator Sweet Rouge take centre stage with her blistering bars. Letting his glorious production and composition set the perfect back drop for this collab.

Ziggy - Mimosa

Emerging Edinburgh based artist and model Ziggy dropped a live session in Glasgow’s Up2Standard proving she is one artist to keep an eye on in 2022. The track ‘Mimosa’ takes you on a soulful, smooth afrobeat journey perfect soundtrack for the summer days ahead!
